Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre starts library with help from HPL

HAMILTON, ON – May 13, 2021 – Hamilton Public Library is helping set up a library at the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre with a donation of more than 4,500 new paperback books.

The books, which are a mix of fiction and non-fiction titles, will begin filling the shelves at the newly established library over the next month.

HPL Helps – Library Staff Lend Hands at Vaccine Clinics

HAMILTON, ON – March 9, 2021 – Over the next few months, 47 HPL Staff are supporting Hamilton Public Health’s vaccination clinics, beginning the week of March 15. This is in addition to the 20 HPL Staff already assisting Public Health in various capacities since January.

All HPL Branches offering Takeout Service beginning July 28 Pickup Your Holds Closer to Home Now

HAMILTON, ON – July 23, 2020 – Each of HPL’s 22 branches is open for Takeout service beginning July 28, 2020.

WHAT: HPL members can place holds for pickup at any branch beginning Thursday July 23. When your holds are ready, you can schedule a pickup time beginning Tuesday July 28, 2020.

Inaugural Graduation for Google IT Support Professional Certificate

HAMILTON, ON – January 13, 2020 – Please join us at Central Library to celebrate the achievements of 41 students who are the first to finish Google’s IT Support Professional Certificate.

WHAT: Forty-one students offered scholarships for a pilot Google education program, administered by Hamilton Public Library, now have the skills needed to find meaningful employment in the tech sector.
